| Coordinates the planning and implementation of organizational projects assigned as established by the operational and strategic plans. In particular, the focus will be with new software applications to successfully meet the IS goals of the organization. The individual will be a member of the IT Management Council (ITMC) and assist in the development of the priorities and plans. They will act as leader for several project implementations at the same time. They will also lead the most challenging projects, those that impact several departments or are of such complexity that the ITMC has requested a high level of focus. They will use
appropriate tracking tools to maintain and monitor their projects. They assure projects are completed efficiently, on time, on budget, and meet specifications. Their role in implementation includes acting as liaison between users departments and vendors. Acts as the technical resource for application users and primary contacts. Responsible for maximizing the use of automated systems to increase the efficiency of user activities and minimize costs. Requires a detailed understanding of manual systems utilized by user departments as well as current and future capabilities of the software applications purchased by SMMC. Coordinates software training, documentation of new policies and procedures as they relate to the Hospital Information System (HIS), continuing education for users in various departments, and user problem resolution. Reports to the Project Manager. |

| Qualifications: Verbal, quantitative, and interpersonal skills normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in order to deal with users at all levels of the organization as well as outside vendors. Project management skills required. Requires ability to grasp technical information, analysis and problem solving, and leadership skills. Knowledge of desktop applications, networking capabilities, and interfacing is desirable. Minimum of one(1) year previous work experience in a healthcare setting with at least one (1) year additional experience with HIS software installation/maintenance typically gained thru work experience in an HIS department or with a computer vendor. Experience with computer hardware highly desirable. Demonstrated project/team leadership skills. Experience in planning and implementing new software that affects several departments.
